Guntur district police executed a targeted operation on July 27, 2026, resulting in the arrest of 27-year-old Myla Vijaya Harsha. The suspect faces charges for securing arms licenses via forged documentation and maintaining an unauthorized stockpile of weaponry. Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal confirmed that the Nagarampalem police initiated the crackdown under the guidance of West DSP Bellam Srinivasa Rao.
Seized Assets and Legal Action
Circle Inspector Munipalli Rajesh led the tactical team that apprehended Harsha and confiscated a variety of hardware. The items recovered during the raid include:
- A .22 caliber rifle
- One 12-bore shotgun
- A .380 caliber pistol
- 50 rounds of live ammunition (comprising 44 rounds of .380 caliber and six 9 mm rounds)
- A vehicle utilized in the commission of the alleged offenses
Legal proceedings against the accused are moving forward under Sections 318(4) and 336(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alongside Section 25(1)(a) of the Arms Act, 1959. Harsha has been transferred to judicial custody as the investigation deepens.

Police officials emphasized that the fraudulent acquisition of firearm permits represents a direct hazard to civil order.
