For the second time this year, the United States consulate in Toronto has become the target of a firearm attack. While investigators recovered a single shell casing and noted visible damage to the building's facade, no injuries occurred. Deputy Chief Frank Barredo of the Toronto Police indicated that at least two individuals were inside the compound during the event, though the structure's heavy fortification likely prevented them from hearing the discharge.
Connecting the Investigations

In May, US authorities detained 32-year-old Iraqi national Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood al-Saadi for allegedly plotting strikes against US and Jewish interests, specifically naming the Toronto consulate. Toronto investigators have not confirmed whether al-Saadi is connected to the recent gunfire. Law enforcement across the city remains on high alert as the search for suspects continues.
