A New Screen Dynamic for Real-Life Duo

For the first time in their careers, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha will headline a feature film as a lead duo. While the pair previously appeared in the Fukrey franchise, those roles were adversarial in nature. Their latest project, a situational comedy produced by Chandan Anand, Mukesh Giri Rinku, and Ravi Narmula, marks a significant shift in their professional collaboration.

Scheduled to begin filming later this year, the currently untitled project aims for a theatrical window in April 2027. Veteran actor Kumud Mishra joins the cast in a central role, adding weight to a narrative described by the production team as a blend of wit and social commentary.

Setting the Stage in the Capital

Writer and director Shashie Vermaa intends to treat the city of Delhi not merely as a location, but as a living character. This setting holds personal significance for Chadha, who noted that the script evoked memories of her early school days in Delhi’s Jamuna Paar district. The narrative explores how minor incidents can upend lives, viewed through a lens of societal expectations and human relationships.
