Etihad Muslim Community Distributes 22 Lakh Rupees to Support 220 High-Achieving Students

Expanding Educational Access Through Financial Grants

In a targeted effort to reduce dropout rates among economically disadvantaged groups, the Etihad Muslim Community (EMC) Welfare Society recently hosted its annual financial aid distribution at the VMRDA Children’s Arena in Siripuram. The organization allocated a total of 22 lakh rupees in scholarships to 220 students who met rigorous criteria for academic merit and financial necessity.

High-Level Officials Commend Community Welfare

Joint Collector and Additional District Magistrate of Srikakulam District, Farman Ahmed Khan, served as the chief guest for the ceremony. Khan praised the society for its consistent dedication to social upliftment. Joining him as the guest of honour was Jusef Kabir Ansari, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer for the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway. Both officials emphasized the importance of community-led support systems in sustaining long-term educational goals.

A Legacy of Support Since 2016

The EMC Welfare Society has maintained this tradition for nearly a decade. During the event, President Jeelani Hazari noted that the organization has been identifying and assisting deserving students since its founding in 2016. The latest round of funding provides each beneficiary with a check for 10,000 rupees to cover costs associated with schooling from the seventh grade through to the completion of university degrees.
