Election officials in Delhi have successfully converted over 75 lakh physical enumeration forms into digital records as part of current revision efforts. This milestone ensures more than half of the city's registered voters are now integrated into the updated electronic database.
Data Modernization Crosses Halfway Mark
Delhi's electoral infrastructure achieved a significant milestone as data released this Tuesday confirms the digitization of more than 75 lakh enumeration forms. This massive technical undertaking is part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the capital's electoral rolls. By converting these physical documents into a digital format, the city has now covered over 52 percent of its total electorate.
Efficiency Driven by Special Intensive Revision
The SIR initiative aims to refine the accuracy of voter lists throughout the National Capital Territory. Key outcomes of this phase include:
- Successful processing of over 7.5 million individual voter verification documents.
- Integration of specific demographic data to prevent identity duplication.
- Verification of residency and eligibility for a majority of the city's voting population.
Authorities note that the high volume of digitised records will expedite the final publication of updated rolls. By moving away from manual record-keeping for over half the population, the election commission intends to streamline voter identification and polling logistics for future cycles.
