Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has signaled a shift in how elder generations must engage with India's youth. Speaking at the Vishwa Mangalya Sabha National Enlightenment Meeting in New Delhi, Bhagwat noted that the traditional era of blind obedience has ended. He asserted that today's youth demand logical reasoning and evidence-based explanations rather than simple directives.

Addressing a crowd of over 900 women leaders at the Ambedkar International Centre, Bhagwat identified a breakdown in communication within modern households. He emphasized that building bonds with the younger generation requires active time, deep affection, and a willingness to engage in dialogue. According to the RSS leader, society must navigate these changes by strengthening family institutions and avoiding the unreflective adoption of external lifestyles.

The CJP Movement and the NEET Crisis

Bhagwat’s call for engagement coincides with significant political pressure from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). This group has spearheaded one of the most substantial youth-led protests in recent history, centering on the national capital. The demonstrations, which launched at Jantar Mantar on June 20, specifically target the education ministry following widespread leaks of the NEET examination papers.

The intensity of the movement has forced the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership. Key developments include:

• Two formal rounds of negotiations between CJP representatives and government officials.
• Demands for the immediate resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
• A direct intervention by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who released a FaceTime-style video on Thursday night promising rigorous action against those responsible for the leaks.

Preserving Cultural Foundations amid Change

During the two-day event themed Nation Building through Motherhood, which concluded on Friday, Bhagwat cautioned against growing misconceptions regarding Indian traditions. He maintained that India’s civilizational roots are sufficiently robust to handle modern scrutiny if handled with confidence. Approximately 280 women from across the country participated in the core deliberations on July 23 and 24, focusing on the preservation of family systems while adapting to changing social realities.

While Bhagwat focused on internal social cohesion and the essence of unity in diversity, the political backdrop remains tense. Prime Minister Modi issued a second video on Friday night, expressing gratitude to young citizens for their policy suggestions, marking a concerted effort by the BJP government to de-escalate the ongoing protests through direct communication.
