Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb has been selected to head the UAP Science Advisory Council, a new body formed through a collaboration between the White House, the Pentagon, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The council also involves participation from the FBI and various members of the intelligence community to address long-standing questions regarding unidentified aerial phenomena.

The council is tasked with providing scientific reports and expert advice to a higher UAP Governing Board. This initiative represents a centralized federal effort to resolve the nature of these sightings using academic and scientific frameworks rather than strictly military or intelligence-based assessments.

Loeb, who has previously gained attention for his theories regarding extraterrestrial life, will oversee the group's efforts to standardize data collection and analysis. The government aims to bring higher transparency and rigorous scientific methodology to the study of objects that enter restricted airspace or exhibit unusual flight characteristics.
