Delhi saw massive protests on July 20th 2026, with the supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party demanding educational reforms and transparency from the “system.” Central Delhi streets became a fortress with heavy police deployment. CJP’s Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka met with Union Minister JP Nadda and submitted their list of demands. Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk continues his indefinite hunger strike after being forcibly taken by police on June 18, 2026, to the Safdarjung Hospital from Jantar Mantar.

Meanwhile, chaos ensued on the streets of Delhi with tear gas and force being deployed to curb the surging protesters. Protesters reclaimed the Jantar Mantar site after it was shut for protests, and the night saw them rebuilding it.

The Hindu shows you some pictures from what happened on July 20 in the national capital.
