Watch: Dehradun: BJP workers march to gherao Congress office over Rahul Gandhi’s protest
Local BJP workers in Dehradun organized a march toward the Congress state headquarters to protest recent remarks and actions by Rahul Gandhi. The demonstration led to a significant police presence and brief clashes as authorities attempted to maintain law and order in the city center.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Dehradun staged a massive protest march on Friday, aiming to surround the Uttarakhand Congress headquarters. The demonstration was organized in response to the ongoing nationwide protests led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against the central government.
As the protesters approached the opposition office, security personnel deployed barricades to prevent a direct confrontation between the rival political groups. Slogans were raised by both sides, resulting in a tense standoff that lasted for several hours before police managed to disperse the crowd.
BJP leadership in the state clarified that the march was a symbolic rejection of the narrative being promoted by the Congress party. Local traffic was diverted across major intersections in Dehradun during the heat of the protest to avoid public inconvenience. Source: ANI
