Municipal officials reported that 201 raids have been conducted so far this year as part of a crackdown on banned plastic items. These enforcement actions have led to the seizure of more than 250 kilograms of prohibited single-use materials across the city.
Authorities have imposed financial penalties on violators to deter the further distribution and use of these items. Total fines amounting to ₹1,95,150 have been collected from businesses and individuals found in breach of the standing environmental mandates.
