Tourist Injured After Bison Tosses Him 8 Feet Into The Air At Yellowstone Park

A park visitor was reportedly injured after an encounter with a bison resulted in the animal tossing the individual high into the air. Witnesses described a scene where the bison used its horn to hook the visitor, throwing him approximately eight feet before he landed heavily on the ground.

Park regulations strictly require visitors to remain at least 25 yards away from large animals like bison and elk, and 100 yards away from bears and wolves. Officials use such incidents to remind the public that bison are unpredictable and can run three times faster than humans.

Medical personnel provided immediate assistance on-site before the individual was transported for further evaluation. The current condition of the tourist has not been publicly updated following the transport. Source: Yellowstone National Park.
