Three held for possession of painkiller tablets

The city police arrested three persons, including a woman and her son, for possessing a large quantity of painkiller tablets intended for illegal sale.
The police noticed four persons moving suspiciously in Otteri on Wednesday morning. One of the suspects managed to escape. The police found 2,400 Nitrazepam 10 mg tablets concealed in their bag. The police registered a case at Secretariat Colony Police Station, and seized the tablets.
The arrested were identified as Akash, 26, of Otteri, his mother Pushpa, 42, and Raji, 19, of Perambur Barracks Road. Efforts are on to trace and arrest the fourth accused.
