Three detained for murder of rowdy-sheeter in Meerpet; police probe revenge motive
Three persons have been detained in connection with the murder of a rowdy-sheeter in Meerpet on Monday night, with the police saying that the killing was an act of revenge.
The deceased, identified as Nandanavanam Suri, had multiple criminal cases registered against him across Hyderabad and was also an accused in the murders of his wife and his brother-in-law, Salman.
According to the police, Suri had gone to Nandanavanam to attend the birthday celebration of a family member when the attack took place. Preliminary investigation suggests that Salman’s brother, Arfaz, learnt of Suri’s presence at the venue, reached there, sprayed pepper spray into his eyes and allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon, inflicting fatal injuries.
Suri was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. The Meerpet police registered a murder case and detained Arfaz along with two others who allegedly assisted him in carrying out the attack.
Police said the murder was driven by revenge, with Arfaz allegedly waiting for an opportunity to avenge the killings of his brother Salman and sister. Further investigation is underway.
