BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Monday accused the Congress government in Telangana of failing to protect the state's interests in water dispute legal proceedings. He stated that the Supreme Court exposed significant administrative negligence regarding the legal challenge against several irrigation projects.

Rao claimed that the state government intentionally filed a defective suit to indirectly benefit Andhra Pradesh's Godavari–Banakacherla project. He argued that the lack of technical diligence in the legal filings has weakened Telangana's historical claims and legal standing before the apex court.

The former minister demanded transparency from the current administration regarding the legal strategy used in interstate water sharing. He emphasized that the residents of Telangana deserve a robust defense of their natural resources against neighboring states. Source: News excerpts on Harish Rao's statement.
