Rathothsavam of new golden chariot of Sri Ekambaranathar temple held
Devotees gathered for the rathothsavam of the newly-constructed golden chariot at the historic Sri Ekambaranathar temple. The sacred procession marked a significant milestone for the temple community, fulfilling a long-standing spiritual vision.
The rathothsavam of the new golden chariot of the Sri Ekambaranathar temple was successfully conducted following the completion of intricate craftsmanship. Hundreds of devotees participated in the event, pulling the ornate vahana through the designated streets amidst traditional rituals and chants.
This project was first conceived by Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal, who envisioned a golden chariot as a permanent offering to the deity. The realization of the chariot reflects years of planning and the contribution of numerous artisans skilled in traditional temple architecture.
Temple authorities and local administration coordinated the event to ensure the safety of the large crowds. This new addition is expected to become a central feature of the temple's annual festival calendar, drawing pilgrims from across the region.
