One hospitalised, two suffer breathing difficulties after Mumbai AC local cooling system fails
One passenger was hospitalized and two others experienced breathing difficulties following the failure of an air conditioning system on a Mumbai local train. The technical malfunction occurred during the morning peak hour, leading to stifling conditions for commuters inside the sealed coaches.
A technical error led to the shutdown of the cooling system on an air-conditioned local train traveling from Titwala to CSMT on Wednesday morning. The incident was reported at approximately 9:26 a.m., a period when suburban trains are typically crowded with daily office-goers.
Due to the lack of ventilation in the sealed AC coaches, one passenger required hospitalization while two others were treated for breathing difficulties on-site. Railway officials responded to the emergency as the train reached its destination, and the affected individuals were provided with immediate medical assistance.
Central Railway confirmed that the 8:33 a.m. service from Titwala experienced a malfunction in its AC units, causing discomfort to hundreds of passengers trapped inside. The train was subsequently withdrawn from service for investigation and repairs to the cooling unit. Source: Railway officials.
