Omar Abdullah's "Hiding Behind Court" Jibe At BJP Over Rs 100 Crore Notice

The BJP has issued a legal notice to Omar Abdullah demanding a public apology or a presentation of evidence regarding his recent claims. Abdullah had alleged that the party offered between Rs 20 crore and Rs 30 crore to National Conference legislators in an effort to secure their defection following the Jammu and Kashmir elections.

Responding to the legal action, Abdullah characterized the move as a tactical retreat by the BJP. He suggested that the party is using the judiciary to avoid directly addressing the political accusations leveled against them in the public sphere.

The legal notice seeks damages amounting to Rs 100 crore, citing defamation and harm to the party's reputation. Abdullah has maintained a defiant stance, indicating that he is prepared to contest the legal challenge as part of the ongoing political friction in the region.
