Man, 63, Shoots Wife Dead, Then Tries To Kill Self In UP's Shahjahanpur
A 63-year-old man in Shahjahanpur allegedly shot his wife dead before attempting to take his own life following a domestic dispute. Local police have launched an investigation into the incident which occurred on Thursday in the Uttar Pradesh district.
A 63-year-old man, identified as Harpal, allegedly killed his 60-year-old wife, Laxmi, in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district. The incident took place following a heated argument between the couple that escalated violently.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Diksha Bhavare, the suspect used a firearm to shoot his wife before turning the weapon on himself in an attempt to commit suicide. Harpal is currently undergoing medical treatment for his injuries under police supervision.
Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported to secure the area and collect forensic evidence.
