Karnataka Governor suspends KPSC chairperson Shivashankarappa S Sahukar over 'illegal selection' of daughters in government service
Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has suspended KPSC Chairperson Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar following allegations of nepotism in government recruitment. The action comes after claims emerged regarding the illegal selection of his daughters for state service positions.

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has officially suspended the Chairperson of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar, following allegations of administrative misconduct. The decision is linked to the purported illegal selection of the chairperson's daughters for government service roles during his tenure.
As part of the constitutional procedure, the Governor has recommended to the President of India that the matter be referred to the Supreme Court. This referral is sought under Article 317(1) of the Constitution, which mandates an inquiry by the apex court into allegations of misbehavior against members of state public service commissions before their removal.
The suspension marks a significant escalation in the ongoing investigation into recruitment irregularities within the state's highest hiring body. While the inquiry proceeds, the chairperson will remain barred from exercising any official duties or powers associated with the KPSC. Source: Multiple News Agencies.
