Hyderabad Police step up Bonalu security, deploy specialised forces and SHE Teams
Hyderabad authorities have significantly increased security measures ahead of the Bonalu festival to ensure public safety during the large-scale celebrations. Specialised police units and SHE Teams will be deployed across sensitive areas to monitor crowds and prevent harassment.

The Hyderabad Police Department has implemented a multi-layered security strategy for the annual Bonalu festival, deploying thousands of personnel across the city. Specialised units, including the City Guards and Task Force teams, have been stationed at key temples and procession routes to manage the expected influx of devotees.
To enhance the safety of women attending the festivities, numerous SHE Teams in plain clothes will be patrolling crowded locations. These teams are tasked with monitoring for incidents of harassment and ensuring a secure environment for all participants throughout the traditional celebrations.
In addition to increased manpower, the police are utilizing an extensive network of CCTV cameras and drone surveillance to oversee public movement. Traffic diversions and specific parking regulations have also been established to minimize congestion near major prayer sites like the Golconda Fort and Lashkar Bonalu areas.
