Hours After PM's Assurance, Fast-Track Court Notified For Paper Leak Cases
The government has officially notified the establishment of a fast-track court to address offences related to competitive examination leaks. This move follows an assurance from the Prime Minister regarding the integrity of the national testing system and legal reform.
A special fast-track court has been formally designated to preside over cases involving the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. This judicial mechanism aims to expedite the legal proceedings against individuals or organized syndicates involved in paper leaks and other fraudulent activities during central recruitment and entrance exams.
The notification comes just hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation, emphasizing that his administration is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process for students. The new legal framework introduces stringent penalties, including long-term imprisonment and substantial fines, to act as a deterrent against malpractice.
Legal experts suggest that the speed of these trials will be crucial in restoring public confidence in the examination infrastructure.
