Six additional flood-related deaths were recorded in Assam on Thursday, bringing the total number of fatalities to 47 since the start of the monsoon season. Official data indicates that the deluge continues to spread across the state, creating critical humanitarian challenges for the local administration.

According to an official bulletin, over 7.21 lakh people are now affected by the floods across 11 different districts. Large tracts of agricultural land remain submerged, and thousands of residents have been forced to seek shelter in relief camps provided by the government.
