Fresh batch of 7,754 Amarnath pilgrims leave Jammu amid tight security

The latest batch of 7,754 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu in two separate escorted convoys. The group consists of 5,888 males, 1,496 females, 44 children, and 326 sadhus, all traveling towards the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal in the Kashmir Valley.

Reports indicate that security remains high along the highway, with paramilitary forces and police providing cover for the vehicles. The pilgrimage involves a challenging trek through high-altitude terrain, requiring significant logistical coordination from the local administration and security agencies.

According to official figures, a total of 87,701 pilgrims have left the Jammu base camp for Kashmir since the yatra commenced on July 2. The yatra is scheduled to continue for several weeks, drawing thousands of devotees from across India. Source: Local news reports.
