EPFO Amnesty Scheme 2026: What is it and who is eligible?

The EPFO Amnesty Scheme 2026 is a strategic initiative aimed at establishments that manage their own Provident Fund Trusts under the Income Tax Act of 1961. The primary objective is to allow these organizations to rectify any existing compliance gaps without facing the full severity of standard penalties during the grace period.

Under the terms of the scheme, eligible establishments are granted a six-month duration to bring their trust operations in line with statutory requirements. This includes ensuring that all contributions and administrative protocols meet the benchmarks set by the EPFO and the relevant tax authorities.

Participation is expected to benefit employers by providing a structured path to legal transparency while safeguarding the interests of employees covered under independent trusts. The scheme serves as a final opportunity for voluntary disclosure and administrative correction before stricter enforcement measures are applied.
