A joint operation conducted by the Ahmedabad City Police's Local Crime Branch (Zone 5) and the Gomtipur Police Station surveillance team has led to the arrest of a woman for drug trafficking. The suspect was reportedly caught distributing narcotics concealed within chocolate wrappers to avoid detection.
Acting on a specific tip-off, officers intercepted the woman and discovered the illicit substances during a search. The use of confectionery branding was identified as a tactic to bypass standard law enforcement scrutiny in the Gomtipur area.
The arrested individual is currently in police custody as investigations continue to identify her suppliers and the extent of the distribution network. This arrest highlights an emerging trend of using everyday food packaging for smuggling operations within the city.
