Delhi's First Integrated Metro-Flyover To Be Ready By December

Delhi's transport infrastructure is set for a significant upgrade with the completion of the city's first integrated double-decker Metro-flyover. The project, which is scheduled to be operational by December, is designed to provide relief to commuters navigating some of the most congested corridors in northeast Delhi.

The engineering design features a two-tier structure where a vehicular flyover runs on the first level and the Delhi Metro tracks occupy the second level, both supported by the same set of piers. This horizontal consolidation is intended to optimize limited urban space while simultaneously increasing transit capacity for both private and public transport.

Authorities have indicated that final stages of construction and safety testing are being prioritized to meet the year-end deadline. Once opened, the corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel times for residents in high-density neighborhoods who currently face daily traffic bottlenecks. Source: NDTV
