Siya Goyal, Lover Wanted To Injure Husband, But Later Dropped 'Risky' Plan
Police investigations have revealed that a woman and her lover allegedly pushed her fiancé into a gorge near Pune's Lohagad Fort. Authorities believe the pair initially considered alternate plans to harm the victim before deciding on the fatal encounter.
A 20-year-old woman identified as Siya Goyal and her 22-year-old partner, Chetan Chaudhary, are accused of murdering her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal. The incident occurred on June 18 when the victim was allegedly pushed into a deep gorge from the Lohagad Fort area.
Investigations suggest the suspects had originally intended only to injure the victim to delay or prevent the upcoming marriage. However, they reportedly abandoned those plans, fearing they were too risky or ineffective, and ultimately chose to carry out the more extreme act during the fort visit.
Pune police took the suspects into custody after the victim's body was recovered and discrepancies were found in initial statements. The motive stands linked to a reported long-term romantic relationship between Goyal and Chaudhary that faced opposition from the family structure.
