Central Vista to be known as ‘Kartavya Bhawan Area’: HUA Minister Manohar Lal

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has instructed officials and the public to transition to new nomenclature for India's administrative hub. The area formerly known as Central Vista will now be formally designated as the 'Kartavya Bhawan Complex' or 'Kartavya Bhawan Area'.

The announcement was made during a public address where the Minister emphasized the need to move away from the colonial-era title. This change follows the previous renaming of Rajpath to Kartavya Path and is part of a broader government initiative to overhaul the symbolic landscape of the capital.

The redevelopment of this area includes several high-profile projects such as the New Parliament Building and various common central secretariats. The Minister requested that media and government departments update their references to reflect the new designation immediately. Source: News reports citing Union Minister Manohar Lal.
