Bihar Environment Minister Prem Kumar inaugurated the ‘Ecotourism Investors Meet-2026,’ a strategic initiative designed to bolster the state's tourism profile through private investment. The project focuses on utilizing Bihar's diverse natural landscapes to create sustainable travel destinations while promoting conservation efforts.
The development plan categorizes the targeted ecotourism sites into two primary segments. Group A comprises 29 reservoir-based ecotourism projects, which are expected to attract significant interest for large-scale amenities and water-based recreational facilities.
Group B represents a broader scope, encompassing 247 individual projects that include ponds, lakes, and various wetlands across the state. This tier aims to distribute tourism benefits across rural and semi-urban areas by renovating local ecological hubs for public use. Source: Bihar Environment Department.
