Assam CM announces ‘ruthless’ anti-drugs drive

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has officially launched a state-level drugs disposal campaign, signaling a "ruthless" approach to eliminating narcotics within the state. The initiative involves the large-scale destruction of confiscated illegal substances to prevent their return to the black market.

During the launch, Sarma noted that the effectiveness of anti-drug operations has significantly increased due to better cooperation between neighboring states. He specifically highlighted that inter-state coordination has improved following the installation of a BJP government in West Bengal, facilitating smoother joint operations across borders.
