Amid Iran War, Centre Urged To Roll Out India's 1st LPG Efficiency Policy

In light of escalating regional tensions between the United States and Iran, there is an urgent call for India to formalize its first regulatory policy regarding Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) efficiency. Advocates for the policy argue that optimizing domestic consumption is essential to safeguarding the national energy supply against potential disruptions in the Middle East.

The current proposal emphasizes the need for extensive public awareness campaigns aimed at educating consumers on efficient usage practices. By reducing per-capita waste, the government aims to lower the import burden and stabilize prices during periods of international volatility.

Furthermore, the initiative suggests a deeper level of cooperation between the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), and private stakeholders. This collaborative approach is intended to streamline the supply chain and integrate modern fuel-saving technologies into the existing infrastructure. Source: US-Iran War news report.
