An official spokesperson confirmed that 12 bikers were fined ₹10,000 each for illegally venturing into restricted areas near Lake Moriri. The group was identified as part of a crackdown on activities that disturb the delicate high-altitude ecosystem and local wildlife habitats.

The enforcement action also targeted an SUV owner found navigating through protected grounds, as regional authorities aim to curb environmental degradation caused by unregulated tourism. These zones serve as vital breeding grounds for rare species and are strictly off-limits to motor vehicles.

Wildlife officials have reiterated that such violations carry significant legal consequences under existing conservation laws. Surveillance in these sensitive sectors has been increased to prevent further encroachment by off-road enthusiasts and tour operators.
