Yuva Morcha to intensify protest against ‘irregularities’ in PSC
Stating that the Public Service Commission (PSC) has been deceiving the literate youth of the State, the Bharitya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State unit announced that it would intensify its protest against the alleged irregularities in the PSC.
Addressing the media here on Saturday, BJYM State president V. Manuprasad said that the State government is aware of the irregularities that have been taking place repeatedly in the PSC.
The latest episode, involving the cancellation of the afternoon session of the Last Grade Servant examination held on Saturday after a serious lapse in the distribution of question papers at an examination centre in Alappuzha, reveals the depth of the crisis in the PSC, which is already facing a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into alleged irregularities.
The BJYM activists who protested against the irregularities in the PSC were brutally beaten up by the police. The SIT investigation currently being conducted is merely a farce intended to cover up the deep rot in the system, Mr. Manuprasad alleged.
Registering a strong protest against the police excess on the girls who were peacefully protesting against the irregularities in the PSC, Mr. Manuprasad said that the BJYM would continue its agitation to cleanse the PSC until those who have tarnished its reputation, including the chairman, are removed from their positions. As part of this, the BJYM will hold a protest in front of the Secretariat on July 24, he said.
