Yemen government says attacked Sanaa airport, reviving dormant conflict

The Yemeni government confirmed it targeted the Sanaa airport facilities to block the arrival of a flight originating from Iran. Officials stated the action was taken after failed negotiations with a Houthi delegation regarding their return from Tehran.

Reports indicate the Houthi delegation had traveled to Iran to attend the funeral of the late Iranian Supreme Leader. Government representatives claims they attempted to convince the delegation to return via a Yemenia Airways flight instead of utilizing an Iranian vessel.

The incident has sparked concerns among international observers regarding the stability of the current ceasefire. This military move represents one of the most direct confrontations at the strategic transportation hub in recent months.
