Woman Wins Rs 1.4 Crore Lottery Scrolling Phone, Unable To Sleep
A woman from North Carolina won a jackpot worth approximately Rs 1.4 crore after playing the lottery on her phone during a bout of insomnia. The Mooresville resident told officials she was surprised to win the top prize while scrolling through games late at night.
Mooresville resident Sue Rowley told lottery officials she was struggling to fall asleep on the night of July 8. While lying in bed, she decided to scroll through the North Carolina Education Lottery's digital offerings and began playing the Bison Bonanza game.
As she played, Rowley hit a digital jackpot worth $173,046, which is approximately Rs 1.4 crore. The sudden win provided a massive adrenaline rush, making it even more difficult for the winner to find sleep for the remainder of the evening.
Rowley visited lottery headquarters to claim her winnings and stated that she plans to use the prize money to pay off her home mortgage. Any remaining funds will be put toward her general retirement savings and future financial security.
