Woman Strangles Husband With Cooker Lid Over For Not Buying Her Sarees In Thane
A woman in Thane has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband after he refused to buy her two new sarees for a wedding. The incident initially went unreported as a crime until medical examiners discovered physical evidence of foul play.

Sunitadevi Singh, a resident of the Thane district, was taken into custody after a post-mortem report revealed that her husband, Dilip Singh, died of violent asphyxia. The confrontation began when the victim reportedly refused his wife's request to purchase new clothing for an upcoming family event.
Initial reports from the suspect suggested that the death was accidental, claiming her husband had collapsed. However, forensic investigations indicated that the injuries were consistent with strangulation, specifically involving the use of a cooker lid as the primary weapon during the struggle.
Local police have registered a case of murder against the woman following the conclusive medical findings. The authorities stated that the domestic dispute escalated quickly, leading to the fatal physical altercation in their home.
