When the Thousand Lights MLA ‘served’ with a ladle to mark a milestone of an ongoing social initiative by a Teynampet resident

As Teynampet resident D.M. Prakash celebrated the 750th day of a daily free mid-day meal initiative he is organising for the underprivileged with a grand lunch at Semmozhi Poonga, Thousand Lights MLA J.C.D. Prabhakar joined the event and served food to the first 150 of the beneficiaries who sat down at the table. Altogether, close to 1000 people were treated to a special lunch. On regular days, the annadanam programme serves lunch to around 200 people, the food offered in a parcel; anyone can drop in and have a lunch packet
