Wayanad landslide: BJP says Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra used constituency for 'political survival'

The BJP leadership issued a statement targeting the former Wayanad MP and his sister, claiming the duo has prioritized political gain over the long-term safety of the constituency. The criticism centers on the management and oversight of the region during their tenure and influence.
A significant landslide occurred on July 7 at the construction site of the Anakkampoyil-Meppadi twin-tube tunnel. This infrastructure project was designed to improve connectivity by linking the Wayanad and Kozhikode districts through a mountain pass.
No casualties were reported at the immediate site of the tunnel project, but the event has reignited political debate regarding environmental stability in the Western Ghats.
