Veteran BJP leader and former Karnataka cabinet minister Ramachandra Gowda passed away following age-related illnesses. He was a prominent figure in the state's political landscape, having served multiple terms in the legislative council.
Ramachandra Gowda, a founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka, breathed his last at a private hospital. His political career spanned several decades, beginning with the Jan Sangh, the predecessor to the modern BJP.
Known for his extensive experience in legislative affairs, Gowda held significant portfolios including Medical Education and Planning and Statistics during his tenure in various state governments. He represented the Bengaluru Graduates' constituency for six consecutive terms.
Condolences have poured in from across the political spectrum, with leaders highlighting his contributions to the development of the party and his dedicated service to the public. His mortal remains were placed for public homage before the final rites.
