Sports Ministry directs Hockey India to probe allegations of harassment and intimidation
The Union Sports Ministry has officially directed Hockey India to investigate serious allegations of harassment and intimidation raised within the organization. This move follows a formal complaint lodged by a former staff member regarding a hostile work environment.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has instructed the national governing body, Hockey India, to conduct a detailed probe into claims of mental harassment and professional intimidation. The directive comes after Elena Norman, the former CEO of Hockey India, raised concerns regarding the administrative culture following her resignation.
In her grievance, Norman highlighted a difficult working environment that allegedly hindered her professional duties, citing specific instances of friction with current federation leadership. The Ministry has emphasized the need for a transparent inquiry to ensure the well-being of athletes and staff members associated with the sport.
Hockey India is expected to submit a comprehensive report on the matter after forming an internal committee to review the allegations. The government has indicated that appropriate measures will be taken based on the findings to uphold the integrity of the national sports federation. Source: PTI
