Erode Collector S. Kandasamy has asked beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PsHH) categories to complete biometric verification of all family members listed in their ration cards by July 31.

In a press release, the Collector said the verification drive is being carried out across the State to update the biometric details of beneficiaries receiving essential commodities through the Public Distribution System. Ration card holders who are temporarily residing away from their native places for employment or other reasons may complete the verification at the nearest fair price shop in the locality where they are currently staying.

Elderly persons and those unable to visit fair price shops due to physical limitations may contact the sales personnel concerned, who will visit their residences to complete the biometric verification.

The Collector also instructed card holders to apply for the deletion of names of deceased family members from their ration cards by submitting the required documents to the respective Taluk Supply Office on or before July 31.
