Poompuhar to launch gifting, export initiatives; collaborate with Reliance for sale of crafts by T.N. artisans
The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation, known as Poompuhar, is set to launch new gifting and export initiatives ahead of the Deepavali season. A major partnership with Reliance Retail will facilitate the national distribution of traditional handicrafts created by local Tamil Nadu artisan
Poompuhar is expanding its commercial reach through a strategic collaboration with Reliance Retail. Under this agreement, the retail giant will procure various handicraft products directly from the corporation to be showcased and sold across its extensive network of retail outlets throughout India.
As part of its growth strategy, the organization is making a significant entry into the corporate and personal gifting segment. This initiative is timed to coincide with the upcoming festival season, aiming to provide a larger market for the skilled work of Tamil Nadu's traditional artisans.
In addition to domestic expansion, Poompuhar is preparing to launch new export-oriented programs to bring regional crafts to international markets.
