'Politicians Come And Go': Larry The Cat Welcomes Another UK PM, His 7th

Larry, the Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office, has officially greeted his seventh Prime Minister as political leadership in the United Kingdom shifts once again. The tabby cat has become a permanent fixture of 10 Downing Street, maintaining his residency through significant transitions in the British government.

Recruited to deal with a persistent rodent problem, Larry arrived at the prime minister's official residence on February 15, 2011. At the time of his arrival, David Cameron was serving as the leader of the country, marking the beginning of the cat's long tenure under both Conservative and Labour leadership.

Throughout his thirteen years of service, Larry has seen the arrival and departure of David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak, and now his newest neighbor at Number 10. While political figures are often subject to the results of elections and internal party shifts, the resident feline has remained a constant figure in the public eye. (Source: News Reports)
