Police constable found dead

A police constable posted at the Telangana Director General of Police (DGP)’s Office in Lakdikapul died after allegedly shooting himself in the early hours of Thursday (July 23, 2026). The deceased was identified as Swamy.

A handwritten note purportedly written by the constable was recovered from the spot. In the note, he reportedly requested that no one hold his wife and children responsible for his decision. He also wrote that he would continue to watch over them even after his death.

Upon receiving the information, the Saifabad police reached the spot and shifted the body for postmortem examination. A case was booked and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
