Police Commissioner commends 29 officers, 118 police personnel
Mangaluru City Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy on Monday presented commendation certificates to 29 police officers, and rewards along with certificates to 118 police personnel in recognition of their work in policing duties.
According to a press note, in the last six months, the police traced the accused in 24 long-pending cases who had failed to appear before jurisdictional courts despite non-bailable warrants having been issued against them. The accused in 88 property theft cases reported in 2026 were arrested and stolen property worth ₹1.2 crore was recovered.
The police have so far arrested 142 alleged drug peddlers in connection with 84 cases this year, and stringent action was taken against them. A total of 443 drug users were arrested, and efforts are under way to trace the peddlers who supplied drugs to them.
Mr. Reddy felicitated the team that cracked online investment fraud cases by tracing the accused to Nepal. Personnel involved in creating awareness about cybercrime and helping victims recover lost money were also felicitated. Personnel involved in social media monitoring and the registration of cases against those posting inflammatory content and fake news were also honoured.
The services of personnel who effectively handled law and order, carried out bandobust duties and prevented untoward incidents were commended. Police personnel who responded promptly to complaints received through Dial 112 and provided timely assistance were felicitated. The Police Commissioner also felicitated personnel who effectively handled court trials, the release said.
