Police, bulldozers deployed against Amaravati land-givers, alleges Jagan Mohan Reddy

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged that the current administration is using coercive tactics, including the deployment of police forces and heavy machinery, to seize land in the Amaravati region. The former Chief Minister stated that these actions are being directed against farmers who had previously contributed land for the capital project but are now facing further acquisition pressure.

Reddy has formally demanded that the government refrain from acquiring even a single cent of land without obtaining the free and informed consent of the cultivators. He emphasized that the use of bulldozers represents an undemocratic approach to urban development and land management in the state.

The allegations come amid renewed tension in the Amaravati capital region regarding land pooling and ownership rights. The YSRCP has called for a transparent process that prioritizes the welfare of the agricultural community over administrative mandates. Source: News Report.
