Mandya gears up for Bharat Jodo Yuva Sangha rollout on July 30

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kumar has directed officials to take all necessary steps to ensure the successful formation of Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas across Mandya district, following an initiative by the government of Karnataka to promote sports, culture, scientific temper and social harmony among the youth.

Presiding over a preparatory meeting in his office on July 21, Dr. Kumar said a taluk-level committee has been constituted to oversee implementation of the programme, and stressed the need for coordinated efforts by all departments.

He said the government of Karnataka has issued an order to establish Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas in every gram panchayat and urban ward to encourage greater youth participation in community development.

Registration for the youth associations will begin on July 30. Youth aged between 16 and 35 years will be eligible to enrol. Registration facilities will be available in gram panchayat offices, Gram One and Karnataka One centres, besides designated ward-level centres.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to ensure the active participation of young people in both rural and urban areas, and to complete the formation of the associations at the earliest. He called for extensive awareness campaigns in villages, educational institutions, and among the general public to encourage maximum registration.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K.R. Nandini said the initiative aims to involve youth in socially relevant activities, and inspire them to play an active role in nation-building. She urged officials to work as a coordinated team and implement the programme responsibly in accordance with the government’s guidelines.
