THE WHAT? L’Oréal Canada has appointed Stéphane Bérubé as President and Chief Executive Officer, making him the first Canadian to lead the company’s Canadian business.

THE DETAILS Bérubé succeeds An Verhulst-Santos, who has been appointed non-executive Chairwoman of L’Oréal Brazil following five years leading the Canadian subsidiary. A L’Oréal veteran since 2002, Bérubé has held senior leadership roles across marketing and consumer products, including Chief Marketing Officer for the UK and Western Europe. Most recently, he served as President of L’Oréal Canada’s Consumer Products Division, where he oversaw significant sales growth, accelerated e-commerce development and increased market share across brands including L’Oréal Paris, Garnier, Maybelline New York, NYX Professional Makeup and Essie.

THE WHY? The appointment highlights L’Oréal’s commitment to developing internal talent while ensuring leadership continuity in a key North American market, as the company continues to invest in digital growth, consumer engagement and local market expertise.
