Kalaburagi artist invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Artist-in-Residence Programme

Kalaburagi artist and researcher Rehaman Patel has been invited to participate in the 10-day Artist-in-Residence Programme that will be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, from July 19 to 29.

According to an official communication from the deputy director, Art and Museum Section, President’s Secretariat, two of Mr. Patel’s paintings will be exhibited during the programme. He will also create a painting through a live demonstration. It will be added to the permanent collection of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Mr. Patel is known for his work in the traditional Vijayanagara-style miniature painting and has devoted over three decades to preserving and promoting the art form. He has received several honours for his contribution to the visual arts, including the Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy Annual Award in 2025.
