India Tests Kusha Long-Range Surface-To-Air Defence Missile
India has successfully conducted a test flight of its indigenous Kusha long-range surface-to-air defense missile system. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh characterized the milestone as a significant progression for the nation's strategic security infrastructure.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) executed the test flight of the indigenous Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (LR-SAM), known as Project Kusha. This successful trial represents a key phase in the development of a multi-layered air defense network designed to intercept long-distance aerial threats.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the engineering teams involved, stating that the achievement signifies a giant leap in the air defense capability of the nation. The system is engineered to detect and destroy incoming enemy aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles at significant ranges, comparable to prominent international systems.
The project aims to provide the Indian Armed Forces with a technological edge by reducing dependency on imported hardware.
